West Side Baptist Church is a dynamic Bible doctrinal teaching church dedicated to the transformation of lives through the Word of God and the Spirit of God. Our Pastor-teacher David Pearson provides in-depth categorical and exegetical doctrinal teaching from the Scriptures to help the believer advance to spiritual maturity. Through spiritual maturity the believer (1) becomes pleasing to their heavenly Father, (2) will experience mental and emotional stability in this life, and (3) be rewarded in the life to come at the Judgment Seat of Christ as an overcomer.

The Goals of West Side

The ministries of the church are dedicated to reaching and teaching individuals of all ages:

First: A clear presentation of the Message of Life whereby one receives eternal life by faith alone in Christ alone by grace alone.

John 6:47 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

Second: to disciple the believer to spiritual maturity:

Colossians 1:28 (NASB) We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

Romans 12:2 (NASB) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect

WHAT WE BELIEVE

• We are a Free Grace church: salvation is absolutely free and is by faith alone in Christ alone. Each individual is free to either accept or reject God's offer of Eternal Life.
• Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Because of His unique sacrifice as a substitute for the sins of the whole world He offers the gift of Eternal Life to all who believe in Him for that life.
• We believe that the Bible alone is the source of absolute Truth; the Bible defines reality The Bible is without error of any kind in the original autographs.
• We believe in the literal, historical, and grammatical interpretation of Scripture.
• We practice the categorical, and exegetical teaching of Scripture (Bible Doctrinal teaching) using the literal, grammatical, historical method of interpretation.
  
• We are Dispensational, Premillennial, and Pretribulational because we know that this is what the Bible teaches.
• We believe that after salvation it is the goal of every believer to advance to spiritual maturity through the steady learning and application of Bible Doctrine.
• Spiritual rebound (the technique of 1 John 1:9) is absolutely all that is necessary to be spiritual: that is, filled with the Holy Spirit. Spiritual maturity comes as the believer advances in the faith through the learning and application of Bible Doctrine.
• The teaching of Bible Doctrine is the priority of the church and the primary goal of the pastoral ministry is to bring believers to spiritual maturity. the church is a classroom for the teaching of Bible Doctrine.
  
• Evangelism, fellowship, friendship, unity, love, mutual support, fun, and strong families are all results that come with the spiritual maturity of the individual church members.

Every Communion Sunday 10:45 Bible Class: "The Great Words of Scripture" - the key words of Scripture and their doctrinal meanings

 Programs for children of all ages during first and second Sunday Bible class and after school teaching program Wednesday at 6:00. Like the adult focus, the children also are challenged to learn the doctrinal teaching of the Bible and thus to have their lives lived out under the authority of God's Word.

 NEW TEEN CLASS AGES 13 AT 9:45.As part of the developing Youth Bible institute they will be working through the Bible in a class entitled "Firm Foundations: from Creation to Christ" a program of training from New Tribes Missions.

TRACK TEAM youth ministry is for those teens who are serious about Bible study and spiritual growth; this group meets on a separate schedule.
